"In Mushing or Dogsledding, Blair is in control"
Although dogsledding can typically make an inexperienced participant feel anything but in control, Blair feels that she is in control. This feeling is in large part due to Blair's overwhelming happiness as she realizes one of her biggest dreams has come true: "I had finally come to the place that I had spent my life trying to find... Here were the dogs, pulling me, proving it". While Blair may not literally have great control over the dogs, her bliss in the moment keeps her from being overwhelmed by a feeling of inexperience.

+# Freewrite about a passage
+
+""Epilepsy," said the guide, breathing hard. "We've tried everything for it." He stroked Lucifer's side with one hand. He was limp," (Braverman 80).
+
+This quote is at first glance simple enough description that doesn't appear to have much to do with anything important in the plot. If one takes a deeper look into this quote, though, they could argue that the dogs epilepsy could be a metaphor for a bigger theme in the story. One interpretation would be that the dog's epilepsy shows that danger can come from everywhere, even from within.
